Western Pursuit (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
This policy applies to westernpursuit.com and any services or features offered through this site.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
We collect personal information only when you actively provide it to us through this site. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect information from passive browsing beyond standard server logs.
Information you give us through the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- The nature of your inquiry (e.g., gunsmithing, custom build, FFL transfer)
- Budget range (only if you select “Custom rifle build”)
- The content of your message
Information collected automatically:
- Standard web server logs containing your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting, and to understand general site traffic. We do not link this technical information to your identity.
- Essential WordPress session cookies required for the site to function.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measurement data, including aggregated and (where applicable) IP-anonymized information about how visitors arrive at and interact with our site — pages viewed, time on page, geographic region (typically city-level), device and browser type, and traffic source. Google may set cookies (such as
_gaand_ga_*) for this purpose. We use this data to understand which pages and content are useful to visitors so we can improve the site. - Google Search Console data, which Google collects when users find our site through Google Search. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual users.
Information we do not collect:
- We do not use Facebook Pixel, retargeting cookies, or third-party advertising trackers on this site.
- We do not process payments, store credit card information, or collect financial data through this site.
- We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Respond to your inquiry, quote, or service request
- Schedule appointments, consultations, or services
- Discuss custom rifle builds, gunsmithing work, or FFL transfers
- Maintain a record of our communications with you
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations as a Federal Firearms Licensee
We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.
4. How we share your information
We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Email service providers that we use to receive and respond to your inquiries (for example, our hosting and email provider). These providers are bound by their own privacy commitments and process the data only to deliver email to us.
- Google LLC, which processes aggregated and (where applicable) anonymized site-usage data on our behalf through Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console. Google’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across the web by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Federal, state, or local law enforcement or regulatory agencies (including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) when required by law, subpoena, court order, or in connection with a firearms transaction we are legally obligated to record.
- Professional advisors (such as our attorneys or accountants) under confidentiality obligations, when reasonably necessary.
We may also disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
5. How long we keep your information
We keep contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain a record of our communications. Inquiries not resulting in a transaction are typically retained for up to two years and then deleted.
Records related to actual firearms transactions (ATF Form 4473, bound book entries, FFL transfer records) are retained as long as required by federal law — typically twenty (20) years, or as otherwise required by the ATF.
6. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information you provide, including limiting access to authorized personnel, using secure (HTTPS) connections for the site, and storing email correspondence on reputable providers with their own security controls.
No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding the personal information we hold about you, including:
- The right to know what personal information we have about you
- The right to access a copy of that information
- The right to correct inaccurate information
- The right to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations to retain firearms transaction records
- The right to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information (note: we do not sell or share personal information)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will respond within forty-five (45) days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.
California residents: You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the rights described above. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws: You have substantively similar rights and may use the same contact method above to exercise them.
Residents of the European Union or United Kingdom: Under the GDPR or UK GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our lawful basis for processing the information you submit through the contact form is your consent (by submitting the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries about our services.
8. Cookies
This site uses two categories of cookies:
Essential cookies. Set by WordPress to make the site function (such as session cookies that maintain form state and load-balancing cookies if used by our host). These are required and cannot be disabled without breaking site features such as the contact form.
Analytics cookies. Set by Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage (cookies typically named _ga and _ga_*). These help us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. These cookies do not personally identify you.
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, profiling, or cross-site tracking. We do not set Facebook Pixel, AdSense, or similar advertising trackers.
Your choices. – If you are visiting from a region that requires opt-in consent (such as the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA opt-out), you will see a cookie consent banner the first time you visit. You may decline analytics cookies there; essential cookies cannot be declined as the site cannot function without them. – You can also disable or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies will affect site functionality (for example, the contact form). – You can globally opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
If we add advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, retargeting, or any tracker beyond what is listed above, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide updated consent mechanisms where required by law.
9. Children
This site is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Federal law also requires that firearm and ammunition purchasers meet minimum age requirements (18 for long guns and long-gun ammunition; 21 for handguns and handgun ammunition). If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-party links
This site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, our Facebook page, manufacturer sites, or supplier sites). Once you leave our site, we have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or policies of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by posting a notice on our website. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
